GrillDirect v2 Wi-Fi, Borcook and firmware updates
GrillDirect installs new firmware on compatible Borniak thermometers. Connect your thermometer to the Internet and use it in the Borcook app.
Why we are introducing this software:
- The manufacturer of the GrillEye MAX thermometer introduced changes to the original software that prevent free use of the device in its previous form.
- These changes were introduced without prior notice to the distributor or end users.
- Our alternative software restores the device's original functionality and allows it to be used without additional fees.
About our software:

Updating the thermometer
GrillDirect guides you through the complete firmware installation process.
- Download and install the latest GrillDirect app.
- Launch the app, select a language and accept the legal documents.
- Complete the verification requested in the app.
- Connect the thermometer to your computer as instructed.
- Select an available firmware version and start the update.
- Do not disconnect the device until the operation completes.
- Restart the thermometer and configure its Borcook connection.
Quick user guide
The most important functions available from the thermometer button.
Device button
Make short presses in sequence, with pauses shorter than about 0.7 seconds. The command is recognized after the click sequence ends.

| 1 short press | Silences an alert, ends pairing or moves to the next probe. |
| 2 short presses | Enables or disables the temporary split probe view. |
| 3 short presses | Starts a 15-minute pairing session, Wi-Fi access point and new code. |
| 5 short presses | Shows or hides the connection information screen. |
| Hold for 3–9 seconds | Releasing the button turns the device off. |
| Hold for at least 10 seconds | Opens the factory-reset confirmation screen. |
Warning – factory reset
A reset removes Wi-Fi and MQTT configuration, tokens, display settings, probe names and calibration.
